4th of July Weekend

Warning: this might be the longest blog post you'll ever read, or at least there are a lot of photos.
We had a really great 4th of July weekend.
We started the long weekend with a party at Tara & Sean Kingston's house and the Highland 4th of July parade, which is becoming a tradition for us.
Then Friday we checked into the Hyatt Regency Chicago for a few days in the city. The weather was perfect for riding our bikes and doing the outside thang.

Along the marina, Chicago Lakeshore.
We had our bikes and a bike trailer (which also turns into a stroller) for Dylan & Matthew. It was good exercise for us and a great way to see the city and enjoy the wonderful weather.

As an employee of Hyatt Corporate Office, we get free entry into Chicago's Children's Museum. There was so much to do there we will definitely have to go back.

MAJOR crowds

On Saturday we biked over to the Lincoln Park Zoo and also checked out the Farm-at-the-Zoo.
Lots of farm animals to pet and big tractors to explore.

We also went to the beach later in the afternoon.

So many people were entertained and amused by our two kids in the trailer. It was like they never saw sleeping kids before. When we finally stopped I realized what was so amusing.

Dinner Saturday night at Gino's East. It was good pizza! (and spaghetti for Dylan, he doesn't really like pizza, can you imagine!?)

We had gelato for dessert at the Rockin' Roll McDonalds. Lots of hugs too.

Except for Matthew, who pooped out on us.
He was sick all weekend and will be going to see the doctor tomorrow. Poor sweetie.

Wow! What exciting stuff. Sounds and looks like an amazing and wonderful weekend. We must get together soon with the kids. I love the trailer too. What a delightful time.
Darling photos! I hope Matthew feels better soon.
