Matthew’s 9 month check-up

Matthew was a total angel at his 9 month check-up today. I really think it was because we saw Dr. Anger and not our usual pediatrician, Dr. D.

Dr. D is a great guy and an excellent doctor but for some reason, the kids go nuts when he's around.

Contrary to his name, Dr. Anger is very laid back and very much a hippie – Birks, Prayer beads, friendship bracelets and all. He even plays in a folk band.

Anyway, Matthew was a doll and we had a very good check-up. He has grown 3 inches and 3 lbs heavier since his 6 month check-up! He has jumped from the 75th percentile to the 95th percentile. I was further surprised to find that, compared to Dylan at 9 months, Matthew has surpassed his brother in height. They both have the exact same size head though, which I thought interesting.

Joe was bigger and taller than his older brother, so maybe it will be the same situation with Matthew and Dylan. Joe enjoys telling people that his older brother, Jim, got the hand-me-downs.

I am just happy that the boys have good health.

Matthew is in full cruise mode now. Getting around the room is a breeze and mommy and daddy are on the move too, trying to keep up. He has almost 5 teeth now and is eating Stage 3 jar food and lots of table foods, too. He loves veggies and fruits and will eat just about anything we give him. Yippee! — finally an adventurous eater I can cook for. Hopefully, he will continue to be so.
