Matthew has a prize winning smile (as a good friend of mine put it). He might fuss if you step away for 2 seconds, but as soon as you pick him up he'll give you a toothless smile so wide you forget everything else and spend the next twenty minutes smiling yourself, making faces, and cooing like some joyful idiot.
Work days mornings are rough, if he is awake, I can't put him down. We smile, coo and baby talk to each other. On these mornings I almost always miss the early train to Chicago.
