Actually, I thought it was 6:45 am. And since that is the time that I am usually on my way to the train station, I jumped out of bed in a panic. Raced to the bathroom and was clean and dressed and in my car in 15 minutes. Turned on the car and saw that the clock read 5 am. I was like, WTF? I looked at my watch, and again 5 am. Crap. It didn't take me long to realize that one of the boys must of messed up my alarm clock.
With these people. Who happen to be my co-workers. Aren't they an attractive group?
We played hooky today and went ice-skating at Millennium Park in Chicago. It was my second time ever ice-skating and I was so proud of myself for not falling down! Actually, no one fell. Amazing, especially if you know anything about my co-workers (they like the drink).
What to do at 5 am? I actually went to two stores. But unfortunately one of them was closed (can you believe Target wasn't open at 5 am?? No wonder this economy is tanking.)
I got to the city at was at my desk at 7:30 am. It is now past midnight and I am still going. Which is amazing since I was doing this earlier today:

We also had some fun together yesterday. My boss surprised me with lunch at Red Light in the West Loop. It was Delish. (Hint, check out the link to see some of the yummy food and cocktails we had.)
Back to today, after glogging (yeah, twice this season!) and ice-skating, I got home at a decent hour, fed the kids and did some shopping for Christmas (finally).
This is the stuff I put together for Dylan and Matthew's pre-school/day care ladies and classmates.
Joe said that I totally over did it. But seriously, these people see our kids almost more than we do. It is a small token of thanks and the least I can do for taking care of the boys every day (read: guilt ridden mommy). Plus, I got gifts for 6 ladies, 16 kids, a grab-bag gift all for under $70. I think I did pretty good.
Tell me that you have to go through this too. I'm not the only one right?
On that note, I gots to get to bed, it is almost 2 am now. We have to be up and downtown Chicago tomorrow at Children's Memorial Hospital by 11 am. It is sleeting outside right now, so should be a fun drive in the morning. UGH!

How funny you'd write this about gifts to teachers! I was up until 3 a.m. finishing up Anna's and Alexander's gifts to their teachers! (I'm up at 3 a.m. right now, too, finishing up Christmas cards...and reading blogs, of course.) I also took photos of our teacher gifts to post on our blog! The kids made ornaments and I made yummy toffee, which was all packaged in cute little boxes. I love the presentation! Thankfully, we only had 5 teachers total. -- Fran
